Dear Families,

There have been many questions regarding the recent announcements from the State of Connecticut regarding assistance programs for Free & Reduced Lunch and Breakfast. For the 2023/2024 school year, the only change with lunch assistance for families will be the following:
Qualified Reduced Lunch students will now receive one free lunch per school day.

It is important, for households who may qualify, to submit a free and reduced-price meal application to determine a student’s eligibility for the school year. A new application is required each school year. This application and related information can be found on this page. Please view this helpful parent video on How to Fill Out the Application for Free and Reduced-price Meals or Free Milk.

As an additional note, families may qualify for free and reduced meals through the school meal application process or through the direct certification process managed by the Connecticut State Department of Social Services (CT DSS). The direct certification process coincides with food assistance programs extended by the CT DSS to families in need of this qualified assistance. These programs include the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP), Temporary Assistance (TANF) and Medicaid.
